  15.      DESCRIPTION
  16.           Reads a portable anymap as input. Produces an RLE image file
  17.           as output.  The RLE image will have 1 channel for PBM and
  18.           PGM input, and 3 channels for PPM.

  20.      OPTIONS
  21.           -8bit
  22.                Enforce 8 bits/pixel (per channel) in the resulting RLE
  23.                image.

  25.      BUGS
  26.           Compression does not take advantage of a 'background color'.
